Talkfirst is a voice trainer for spoken English, Lithuanian, Polish and Czech with an AI conversation partner.

You talk out loud from day one and get feedback on pauses, mistakes and pronunciation. For residence permits there are mock oral exams. Talkfirst runs in the browser, in Telegram and inside ChatGPT and Claude, with explanations in English, Russian or Ukrainian.

Talkfirst in short

  1. What it is. A voice trainer with an AI conversation partner: conversations out loud, feedback after each talk on pauses, mistakes and better ways to say it, pronunciation practice word by word, flashcards with spaced repetition and scenes from everyday life.
  2. Languages you learn. English, Lithuanian, Polish and Czech. Czech is in beta.
  3. Languages of explanations. English, Russian and Ukrainian: you pick one in your profile.
  4. Mock exams. Lithuanian A2 state language exam: speaking with a score from 0 to 10 and the written part. Lithuanian Constitution test: 20 questions with 3 options, 14 correct answers to pass, 45 minutes. Polish B1 oral exam: three tasks, a result in per cent and “would pass” from 50 %. Czech A2 speaking part (beta): four tasks, “would pass” from 60 % of 37 points.
  5. Where it runs. The web app at app.talkfirst.io (sign in with an email code or Telegram), the Telegram Mini App @any_lang_learn_bot, and ChatGPT and Claude through an MCP server.
  6. Price. Free: 35 voice minutes a week, no card needed. Pro: 140 voice minutes a week for 500 Telegram Stars per 30 days. Weekly limits reset on Monday.

Where it runs

Browser, Telegram, ChatGPT and Claude

Your words, flashcards and progress are the same everywhere: start in Claude, review on your phone.

Connect in Claude

  1. Open Claude in the browser or in the desktop app.
  2. Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector.
  3. URL: https://mcp.talkfirst.io/mcp.
  4. When asked, sign in with an email code or Telegram. A new email creates a free account.

Voice windows work in Claude on the web and in the desktop app. In the Claude mobile apps connector windows have no microphone; the text tools still work.

Connect in ChatGPT

  1. Turn on developer mode: Settings → Apps → Advanced settings.
  2. Create an app with the URL https://mcp.talkfirst.io/mcp and OAuth sign-in.
  3. Sign in to Talkfirst with an email code or Telegram.

Whether developer mode is available depends on your ChatGPT plan and region.

The MCP server uses Streamable HTTP and OAuth 2.1; its name in the official MCP Registry is io.talkfirst/talkfirst. Current steps are in the docs, and a walkthrough is in the guide learning a language with ChatGPT and Claude.

Is Talkfirst a language school with teachers?

No. Talkfirst at talkfirst.io is an app: the conversation partner and the examiner are AI, the voices are synthesised, and scores and corrections are automatic and can be wrong. It is a trainer for lots of speaking practice.

Is it free?

Yes, the Free plan gives 35 voice minutes a week, starter scenes, pronunciation practice and flashcards, and each mock exam once every 7 days. Pro costs 500 Telegram Stars for 30 days.

Does it work inside ChatGPT and Claude?

Yes, through the MCP server at https://mcp.talkfirst.io/mcp: add it as a custom connector in Claude or as an app in ChatGPT developer mode and sign in with an email code or Telegram.
