Polish for beginners
You don't need any Polish to start. You speak from the first session and pick up grammar and words as you go.
Start at A1
Set your level to A1 and the AI partner speaks at your level, a little above it. Words from your conversations go into flashcards.
Feedback in your language
The app and all feedback come in English, Russian or Ukrainian: pick the language in your profile.
Scenes
Free: "Meeting someone", "At a café", "Asking the way" and "At the customer's door". Pro adds a job interview, the doctor, renting a flat, the airport and a track for couriers and drivers.
Pace to your goal
Set the level you are aiming for and a date. Talkfirst works out how many minutes of speech a week you need and shows whether you are on track.
Speaking practice toward B1 for residence
For the long-term EU resident permit (rezydent długoterminowy UE) you need to prove Polish at B1 or higher: with an official certificate of the level (poświadczenie) or a school or university certificate with Polish as the language of instruction. It does not apply to children under 16.
- Talkfirst has no B1 mock exam and does not issue certificates.
- Talkfirst trains speaking: conversations on everyday topics and scenes, with feedback on every line.
- Set B1 as your goal with your exam date, and the pace plan shows how much to speak each week.
- Official information about the exam is on certyfikatpolski.pl.
