Guide · Polish with an AI agent

The app where your Polish lives:
browser, Telegram and the chat

An AI agent is good at thinking with you at the laptop. Speaking practice on the tram needs something else. Talkfirst is the app where your vocabulary, conversations and lessons wait for you — the same account the agent works with.

Updated October 20, 2026

Short answer. Talkfirst is one app in the browser (app.talkfirst.io) and inside Telegram, with the same account, vocabulary and progress as the connector in Claude or ChatGPT. Voice conversations with a review, pronunciation, quizzes, lessons and the mock B1 oral exam happen in the app, and the agent in the chat sees the results.

The rest of this section is about what the agent does: saves words, scores pronunciation, writes lessons, keeps the plan. But most practice doesn't happen at a desk with a chat open. It happens in five spare minutes on the phone. That's what the app is for.

The Talkfirst app is the same in the browser (app.talkfirst.io) and as a Telegram Mini App (the bot @any_lang_learn_bot). It's one account with the connector: a word saved by the agent in the evening is in the Today screen on your phone in the morning. How to connect the agent — in the section hub.

Signing in

Sign in with a code sent to your email or with Telegram. A new email creates a free account. If you've already connected the connector in Claude, sign in to the app the same way, and you'll see the same vocabulary and progress.

What's on each tab

The app has five tabs: Today, Talks, Quizzes, Lessons, Vocabulary.

Today

Words of the day with a ▶ button to hear each one, a link to the whole vocabulary (All vocabulary), and a check for words you already know (“Already know some words? Check what you know”) — useful if Polish is your second Slavic language or you've lived in Poland for a while. Below, the pace card toward your target level.

The Today screen in Telegram: words of the day with play buttons, the whole vocabulary, a check of words you already know, the pace card and the bottom tabs.

The Today screen of the app in Telegram, on the Lithuanian course. For Polish the screen is the same, with Polish words.

Talks

Voice conversations with a Polish-speaking partner in a scene. On Free: Meeting someone, At a café, Asking the way, and for Polish also At the customer's door — a courier handing over an order. On Pro: all scenes and your own topic. After a conversation — a review with pauses, corrections and “Say it better”; each phrase can go to your vocabulary with “+”.

Quizzes

Quizzes on your words: recognition, recall, listening, speaking. The same quizzes the agent can start in the chat.

Lessons

Ready-made Polish lessons on the deck topics at A1–A2 and B1, plus the ones your agent built for you. Listen with the screen off, watch with slides, or read. More in lessons from your AI agent.

Vocabulary

Everything you've saved, from the agent or from conversation reviews. You can remove a word here; there's no button to add your own — that's what the agent and the reviews are for.

At the top there's a course switcher — language and level — and the mode: Strict, Zen or Mix. The interface and explanations come in English, Russian and Ukrainian.

Exams

For Polish, the app has a mock B1 oral exam in its exams tab. It isn't in the chat: the timed exam format has its own screen in the app. On Free, one full mock exam of each kind is available once every 7 days. What the real exam looks like — in Polish B1 for long-term EU residence.

How the agent sees the app

Whatever you do in the app, the agent can read in the chat: conversation results (dialogue_result), quiz results (quiz_result), and the overall picture (progress). So you can practise on the phone and discuss it later on the laptop.

I had two conversations in the app today. Look at the results and tell me which corrections repeat.
I did the quiz on my office words in Telegram. What did I get wrong, and should those words go into a lesson?

A week with the agent and the app

This is the combination that works for most people:

  • In Claude on the laptop — the thinking part: going through an email from the landlord, saving words, adjusting the plan, ordering lessons for the week.
  • In Telegram on the phone — the doing part: flashcard review, a quiz on the tram, a conversation in the evening, a lesson on a walk.

Everything goes into one vocabulary and one progress record. The plan's targets — speech minutes, quizzes, conversations, lessons — count no matter where you did them.

Plan this week so that the speaking happens in the app on my phone and we only meet here on Sunday to review.

Five minutes on the bus

The agent in the chat and the app work in the active course: language and level are chosen with the switcher in the app, and the tools in the chat follow it. Learning Polish and English at the same time? Switch the course before a session, and the vocabularies won't mix.

If you don't know where to start in a short window, ask the agent beforehand — it sees what's due today:

I'll have 10 minutes on the bus. What's best to do in the app: flashcards, a quiz or a short lesson?

Why voice practice is in the app

In the Claude mobile apps, the connector's windows have no microphone. Text tools work there, but for voice — conversations, pronunciation, quizzes out loud — use the Talkfirst app in the browser or Telegram. On the web and in the desktop app, Claude's windows do have a microphone.

Plans

Free: 35 voice minutes a week (recognising your speech and voicing the replies), 210 new voicings a week, the starter scenes and one full mock exam of each kind every 7 days. Pro: 140 voice minutes a week, all scenes, your own conversation topic — 500 Telegram Stars for 30 days. Limits reset on Monday. For now, Pro is paid only with Telegram Stars.

Questions

Is there a Polish learning app with AI in Telegram?

Yes: Talkfirst runs as a Telegram Mini App through the bot @any_lang_learn_bot. It's the same app as in the browser, with conversations, quizzes, lessons and the mock B1 oral exam.

Do I need Claude or ChatGPT to use the app?

No. The app works on its own: decks, scenes, lessons and exams are all there. The agent adds the thinking part — your texts, your plan, lessons on your mistakes.

Is my progress the same in the app and in the chat?

Yes. It's one account: one vocabulary, one set of flashcards, one plan, whether you work in the browser, in Telegram or in Claude.

How do I pay for Pro?

For now, only with Telegram Stars: 500 Stars for 30 days.
