Short answer. Talkfirst is one app in two places, the browser at app.talkfirst.io and a Telegram Mini App, and it uses the same account as the connector in Claude and ChatGPT. Voice conversations with scenes and feedback, pronunciation, quizzes, lessons and the Czech A2 mock speaking exam (beta) live in the app, and the agent in the chat sees their results. Your vocabulary and progress are the same everywhere.
An AI agent in a chat is at its best when you sit down for half an hour: you go through a letter, save words, agree a plan, ask for a lesson. Most Czech practice does not happen like that. It happens on the tram, in the queue at the post office, in the ten minutes before a shift. For that you need an app on your phone, and it should know everything the agent knows.
Talkfirst is that app. This page is about what lives in it and how it connects to the agent. Setting up the connector is in the main guide to Czech with an AI agent.
One app, two places
The web app (app.talkfirst.io) and the Telegram Mini App are the same app with the same account as the connector. You sign in with a code sent to your email or with Telegram; a new email creates a free account. The interface and the explanations are in English, Russian or Ukrainian.
There are five tabs: Today, Talks, Quizzes, Lessons and Vocabulary.
- Today — the words of the day with ▶, a link to the whole vocabulary, “Already know some of the words? Check what you know”, and the pace card if you set a goal.
- Talks — voice conversations with scenes and a review afterwards.
- Quizzes — recognition, recall, listening and speaking.
- Lessons — the lessons your agent built for you.
- Vocabulary — everything saved: from the agent, from conversations, from the decks.
You can also switch the course (language and level) and the mode: Strict, Zen or Mix.

What happens in the app
Conversations
You talk out loud with a Czech-speaking partner in a scene. On Free there are three ready-made scenes: Meeting people, At a café and Directions. Pro has all the scenes and your own topic. After the conversation you see pauses, corrections, “Say it better” and new words, each with a “+” to save it.
Pronunciation and quizzes
The same pronunciation check and quizzes as in the chat, but with the microphone of your phone. This is also the answer to a common snag: in the Claude mobile apps connector windows have no microphone, so voice practice on the phone happens here. More in checking Czech pronunciation with AI.
Lessons
Lessons the agent built land in the Lessons tab. Listen with the screen off, watch the slides or read the text. Czech has no ready-made lesson library, so this tab fills up from your requests; see Czech audio lessons from your agent.
The mock exam
The app also has a Czech A2 mock speaking exam, in beta. On Free you can take a full mock exam once every 7 days. How the real exam works: the Czech A2 exam guide.
What the agent sees
Everything you do in the app is visible to the agent in the chat: conversation results (dialogue_result), quiz results (quiz_result) and overall progress (progress). You don't have to retell anything.
I just did the café conversation in Telegram. Go through the result, explain my two biggest mistakes and save the useful phrases.
I did a quiz on the bus this morning. Which words did I miss, and why do you think I confuse them?
I recorded the phrase in the app. Done — what's my score?
For the last one the agent takes the result from progress.
A day with the agent and the app
One way to split the work, with everything in one vocabulary and one progress record:
- Morning, tram, Telegram: ten minutes of flashcards due today and a short listening quiz.
- Lunch break, Telegram: a five-minute conversation in the café scene.
- On the way home: a lesson in Listen mode with the screen off.
- Evening, Claude on the laptop: go through the conversation review, save words from a letter, adjust the plan, ask for tomorrow's lesson.
Look at what I did today in the app and plan tomorrow: what to review on the way to work and which conversation to do at lunch.
Prepare a lesson for tomorrow morning about the phrases I hesitated on today.
What it costs
Free includes 35 voice minutes a week (recognising your speech and voicing the answers), 210 new voicings a week, the ready-made scenes and a full mock exam once every 7 days. Pro has 140 voice minutes a week, all scenes and your own conversation topic, for 500 Telegram stars per 30 days. Limits reset on Monday. Payment is in Telegram stars only for now.
Czech is in beta in Talkfirst: the decks and scenes may still contain mistakes. If something looks wrong, tell the agent — it can send a report.
Compared with a plain chat: the best AI app to learn Czech. Other apps: apps for learning Czech. All guides: Czech guides. About the course: Talkfirst for Czech.
Questions
Do I need Claude or ChatGPT to use Talkfirst?
No. Conversations, pronunciation, flashcards, quizzes and the mock exam work in the app without any chat. The agent adds what an agent is good at: explaining, adding your own words, building lessons and plans.
Is there a Talkfirst app for the phone?
Talkfirst runs in the phone's browser and as a Telegram Mini App via the bot @any_lang_learn_bot. Both are the same app with the same account.
Can I practise speaking in the Claude mobile app?
Text tools work there, but connector windows in the Claude mobile apps have no microphone. Do voice practice in the Talkfirst app in the browser or in Telegram, and the agent will see the results.
How do I pay for Pro?
With Telegram stars: 500 stars for 30 days. Other payment methods are not available yet.
